Spirit of Place
Spirit of Place celebrates the vision, heritage and voice of young people in Powys through the medium of performance - dance, music and drama. 2011 saw a pilot summer gathering at the Willow Globe with participants drawn from Mid Powys Youth Theatre, New Red Kite Theatre Group and the Knighton and Presteigne branch of the Powys Youth Service. This is being developed during 2012, with an additional heritage-specific element, to culminate in a week-long festival camp from 19th to 26th August. During this week the young people will work with professional practitioners to create their own show as a contribution to the Cultural Olympiad.

Our Spirit of Place project has already been granted the prestigious London 2012 Inspire mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme which recognises exceptional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Games.
