On Saturday night the Willow Globe Company performed Romeo and Juliet in the beautiful gardens of Allt-y-Bela - a gorgeously restored Elizabethan house near Ross-on-Wye. A 100 strong audience (who had sold out the show only a couple of weeks into booking) sat bravely through ten or fifteen minutes of heavy rain, and cheered us on enormously. Thankfully, the clouds were clear for the rest of the show and it was thrilling to be adapting the play to such a perfect setting. The sight of Juliet leaning from an Elizabethan window to catch a glimpse of her Romeo was never to be forgotten!
Thank you to our wonderful hosts who gave us tea and then treated us to a party afterwards with roaring fire, scrumptious food and warm company.
