Willow Waites: The Living Willow Theatre will house its homegrown music group the Willow Waites in a fruitful pooling of local talent. Headed by Simon Fraser, the group will include a folk band and specialist Cramhorns, Viols and Cornet players. The Waites will regularly rehearse at the Living Willow Theatre and will complement many of the arts happenings here.
Welsh language: We are encouraging Welsh medium productions and projects at the theatre from both community and professional organisations.
Indigenous Peoples’ Festival 2008: This international festival of theatre will allow individual voices and concerns to be expressed through the universal and timeless stories of Shakespeare. Artists from Canada, Hungary, Mozambique, England and Wales will come together at the Living Willow Theatre to perform, share ideas and communicate in many languages. Local and international artists, talk back sessions, master classes, community input, music and spontaneous performance will all be a part of this exciting 10-day performance festival. Special guests will be featured in the “Wine in the Orchard” seminar series, offering an opportunity for dialogue with prominent theatre artists. There will be local food to enjoy, international wines to experience and Welsh craft makers and artisans on hand to share their skills. The Grand Finale will be a collaboration of all of the participating artists in a not-to-be-missed gala performance in the magical living Willow Globe.
